Tavia Christina
Dance Artist
Tavia Christina (they/he) is an award winning multi-hyphenate artist who embraces their ethereal nature as a driving force in artistic expression and research. Their work seamlessly blends genres across film, theatre, and performance art. Their practice is rooted in somatic movement and spiritual endurance.
With a background spanning Western contemporary dance, street dance, and classical ballet, Tavia also holds interests in various other art forms, including curation, music, acting, poetry, and death work. In their freelance career, they work as a director and producer and have most recently won “Best Choreography” and “Outstanding Achievement” for their film “Want You” at LA Indie Short fest and Innovate Film Showcase, have been nominated for a Dora Mavor Moore award, and have completed a Metcalf Foundation Internship in 2026.
Tavia joined the artistic team of Chimera in 2022 as part of Haunted Dances, and was part of Dora Mavor Moore award nomination for their work in Malgorzata Nowacka-May’s Soft. Tavia is currently in creation process of a new work by Malgorzata Nowacka-May.
