Methodologies of Chimera’s hyper-physical creation that have established Chimera as a pillar of Canadian contemporary dance for over 25 years.  

This lab is for you IF:  

• You are an aspiring or professional artist  

• You have a strong technique in either ballet or contemporary dance  

• You are curious to explore some of the methods that make the Chimera ensembles throughout the years shine (“exceptional dancers” – The Globe and Mail, Dora Nomination for best ensemble in Soft) 

In the two days you will: 

• Delve into Chimera’s hyper-physical movement language, developed over 25 years of dance-making with Artistic Director Malgorzata Nowacka-May and company artists Amy Hampton, Louis Laberge-Côte, and Sebastian Hirtenstein.

• Learn fundamentals of Chimera’s Five Point Alchemy method 

 Contents: 

• Contemporary technique class daily 

• Pilates for Dancers 

• Floor Work 

• Repertoire 

• Partnering
