Jake Ramos
Dance Artist
Jake is originally from an archipelagic country in Southeast Asia called the Philippines; colonized by Spaniards for over 300 years, by Americans for 50 years, and by Japanese for 50 years, Jake is very grateful to his ancestors who fought for their country’s independence on June 12, 1898. Fast forward to the future, Jake immigrated to Canada in 2011 hoping for a better future, but due to inflation, life hasn’t been super easy. Through the years of his time in Toronto, he had developed significant interest in the creative arts, photography, travelling, K-Pop, K-Dramas, K-Food and social issues particularly along the lens of all aspects of LGBTIQ+ and discriminatory matters. Jake also enjoys telling stories through street photography – capturing in-the-moment frames and being able to walk around the city to record memories. On his spare time, he binge watches a lot of K-dramas and a lot of random shows on YouTube. Sugar, spice, and everything nice -these were the ingredients chosen to create the perfect little Jake. He’s very honoured to be part of this work by The Chimera Project and to be working with all of these incredible people, you can follow Jake on his socials (@jakeleram_).
